For this family basement, the owners' desire was to create storage for the kid's toys while making the multi-functional space a place to entertain. We worked with the owners to select new flooring and bring in storage solutions with a dedicated workspace for each child. Kate's window design was created by Mark to turn a small window into a focal point that allows natural light to come through.
Using photos of the children became an artful focal point.
We wanted to make sure the family had enough space to play Wii while still creating a cozy environment.
True to our redesign concept, we found a great use for the large shelf unit which previously held kids' toys and by simply rearranging a few items, a great place for playing games or creating artwork was created.
Basements offer a wide variety of options, from suites, to billiards and game rooms, to home bars. We always have fun with designing these spaces!
