Carpentry and Artwork

Kate created two 36" x 24" canvas paintings
depicting one scene for a client's home.  The
wish was to have the daughter and
granddaughters represented in the scene.

A
beautiful
way to
overcome
a media
wall
niche
was to
build
around it.

For this home, many renovations were made, to include
removing a column and building a mantle

Not thrilled with the mantle which came with the
home and needing one which could hold a flat
screen TV and receiver, Kate and Mark designed
and built a mantle befitting the style of the home.

Double boxes and rails make a remarkable difference for the
entry and dining room.

This bathroom has a long history of changes - 200 years worth
to be exact!  We gave the bath a great space lift  with wide plank
beadboard, trim and cottage green to capture the farm house
feel for this modern bath.  Read about the changes it has
undergone in recent years through our friends at
Westwood
Horse Center

Now you see it, now you
don't!   The intercom
system was right in the
middle of a wall meant
for artwork.  The
solution?  Kate painted a
version of the "Tree of
LIfe" on canvas and Mark
 custom built a frame.
The set up covered the
intercom while still
allowing access to the
system and  sound to
come through.

Before
Wanting to create a great way to showcase the owner's theater
art collection, Kate and Mark built custom sized frames and lined
them with suede  to coordinate the various performance pieces.
The artwork was then used in the owner's theater room.

A large stone wall
deserves an over
sized mantle.

At eight feet long
and 14 inches
deep, this floating
mantle adds a lot of
character to the
room.

Adding interest
to a foyer, wall
boxes can
create great
backdrops for
artwork!

Mark built a wall bar and  Kate found autographed Yankee's memorabilia to create vintage and three dimensional wall art.

To help provide additional storage for family photos and
collectibles, Mark and Kate built bookcases around the fireplace
After

Kate was commissioned to paint for a couple who have
built themselves a new home on the Potomac.  The 16
x 20 acrylic on canvas is one of the paintings
After

Kate painted  this
portrait for a friend,
capturing her
beautiful daughter
on canvas
.

Kate painted a series of beach scenes on wooden shutters to create panoramic artwork for Nugents' Seafood Bar and Grille.  Below are a few
